TUESDAY, APRIL 22 | 10 A.M. – NOON | MID-AMERICA ROOM

Discover how light-manipulating surfaces transform ordinary spaces into extraordinary moments for the people who inhabit them.

Event Description

Join Ypsilanti-based Sensitile Systems for an inspiring CEU presentation exploring the power of light, material, and human interaction. This AIA & IDCEC-accredited continuing education course (1.5 LU/HSW Hours) invites you to learn how Sensitile’s resin, glass, and terrazzo creations capture fleeting moments—like shimmering water and shifting shadows—and translate them into immersive architectural elements.

Why Attend

  • Experience firsthand how these materials interact with light and movement
  • Discover the psychological and emotional impact of spaces that respond dynamically to occupants
  • Learn how to create installations that evolve throughout the day, offering different experiences as lighting conditions change
  • Understand how to articulate the value of experiential materials to clients beyond aesthetic considerations
  • Gain insights into creating distinctive signature moments in your projects that clients and visitors will remember and share

Take Home the Experience

  • Special Giveaway: Enter to win a PIXALite desk lamp—a contemporary yet rustic fusion of light and stone featuring their signature 5-inch shade. (Must be present to win.)
  • Designer Takeaway: All attendees will receive a piece of light-filtering material perfect as a desk ornament, window decoration, or small art piece—allowing you to continue experiencing the magic of these materials in your own space
