So often, shelter magazines print glossy feature stories that describe the many changes made to a space that took it from so-so to spectacular, but we’re left to imagine what the space looked like before the work began. Case in point, designer Kevin Serba recently renovated his own Birmingham Tudor, the home featured in the cover story from our latest Michigan Design Center @home magazine. Kevin restored many original elements in his home, while adding thoughtful modern touches, to create a warm, inviting place to relax and entertain guests. Fortunately for us, he also documented his work with before-and-after shots taken from the same perspective, offering the rare opportunity for side-by-side comparison – an exceptional visual example of what a talented designer can do to bring a home to life.
